You cannot control everything that happens to you.
Someone may speak harshly. A plan may suddenly change. You may receive disappointing news. But there is something you can often control: how you respond.
PAUSE BEFORE YOU RESPOND
Proverbs gives us a powerful principle:
βA soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger. The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.β
β Proverbs 15:1β2 (KJV)
A tense situation does not have to become worse because of your response.
You do not have to answer every word immediately. You do not have to allow anger to choose your next action.
Pause. Pray. Think. Then respond with wisdom.
A wise response may not change what happened, but it can change what happens next.
That is part of fruitfulness. Your words, reactions and decisions can either build or destroy what you are trying to cultivate.
Today, before responding to something frustrating, give yourself permission to pause.
Let wisdom speak before emotion does.

π‘ DID YOU KNOW?
Your brain can begin processing a potential threat before you consciously understand what you have seen or heard. This rapid response helps prepare the body for action.
Life Lesson: A quick reaction may be natural, but a wise response can be learned.

π NIGHT REFLECTION
β’ How did I respond when challenged today?
β’ Did I pause before speaking?
β’ What would wisdom have done differently?
π NIGHT PRAYER
Father, teach me to respond with wisdom, patience and self-control. Let my words and actions reflect Your grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
π₯ YOUR RESPONSE CAN CHANGE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
Today is not simply about controlling your words. It is about allowing wisdom to govern your reactions.
If you want to grow in fruitfulness, do not only pray for better circumstances. Ask God for the wisdom and self-control to respond rightly within whatever circumstances you face.
Pause. Pray. Think. Respond wisely.
