π TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
Proverbs 18:20β21 (KJV)
βA man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.
Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.β
π MORNING ENCOUNTER
SPEAK WITH PURPOSE
Your words may leave your mouth in seconds, but their effects can remain much longer.
A sentence can encourage someone to try again. Another can make them give up. A careless statement can damage trust, while a thoughtful conversation can repair it.
That is why Scripture takes our words seriously.
Proverbs says that a person’s mouth produces βfruit.β What we repeatedly say can influence what develops in our relationships, decisions and attitudes.
This does not mean that every sentence we speak magically creates our future. It means our words matter.
What do you regularly say about yourself?
What do you say about your family?
What do you say when something goes wrong?
Do your words communicate wisdom, faith, gratitude and responsibilityβor do they constantly reinforce fear, bitterness and defeat?
Fruitful speech is not pretending that problems do not exist. It is learning to speak about problems without allowing those problems to control your language.
Instead of saying, βI can never improve,β say, βI can learn.β
Instead of saying, βNothing will ever change,β ask, βWhat can I do differently?β
Instead of tearing someone down, choose words that correct without destroying.
Your words should become instruments of truth, wisdom and life.
Today, listen to yourself.
Before you speak, ask:
Is it true?
Is it necessary?
Is it helpful?
You may discover that one of the simplest ways to become more fruitful is to become more intentional about what comes out of your mouth.
π‘ DID YOU KNOW?
Honey never spoils when properly stored. Ancient honey discovered in Egyptian tombs remained preserved because its low water content and acidic environment make it difficult for many microorganisms to grow.
Life Lesson: The right conditions can preserve what is valuable.
π TODAY IN HISTORY
10 SEPTEMBER 1960 β AFRICAN WOMEN’S FOOTBALL MILESTONE
Organised women’s football was already developing across African countries decades before the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations began in 1991. By the late twentieth century, national women’s competitions were becoming increasingly established across the continent.
Life Lesson: Major movements often develop quietly before receiving worldwide recognition.
