OCTOBER THEME: TOTAL RESTORATION
Nothing Missing, Nothing Broken
TODAYโS SCRIPTURE
Lamentations 3:22โ23 (KJV)
โIt is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.โ
MORNING ENCOUNTER
Everyone makes mistakes.
Sometimes we look back and wish we had chosen differently, spoken differently or acted sooner. Regret can make you believe that your best opportunity has already passed. You may replay an old failure in your mind until you begin to believe that you have disqualified yourself from a better future.
But God’s mercy gives us another morning.
The Scripture reminds us that His compassions do not fail. His mercy is not exhausted by yesterday’s mistakes, and His faithfulness is not cancelled by your difficult experiences.
Peter denied Jesus three times, yet his failure did not become the final chapter of his life. Jesus restored him and entrusted him with responsibility again.
A second chance does not mean ignoring the past. It means learning from it and moving forward with greater wisdom.
If you have made a mistake, acknowledge it honestly. Repent where necessary. Apologise where appropriate. Repair what you can, learn the lesson and make a better choice.
Do not waste your new opportunity comparing yourself with who you used to be. Yesterday may have taught you, but it does not have to imprison you.
Perhaps you need to return to prayer, rebuild a damaged relationship, restart a neglected assignment or approach your work with greater discipline. Begin with the step God has placed before you.
You cannot change yesterday, but you can respond differently today. Let God’s mercy lead you into humility, growth and renewed obedience.
Today is another opportunity to walk with God faithfully. Do not waste it living under the weight of yesterday’s regret.
