📖 TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
Proverbs 1:5 (KJV)
“A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels.”
🌅 MORNING ENCOUNTER
GROWTH REQUIRES A TEACHABLE HEART
Leadership without learning can become dangerous.
It is possible to become confident before becoming knowledgeable, vocal before becoming wise, and eager to lead before being prepared to carry responsibility.
A teachable person understands that there is always more to learn.
Before you lead others, learn. Before you instruct, listen. Before you make major decisions, seek understanding.
You do not become stronger by pretending to know everything. You become stronger by remaining humble enough to learn.
There are lessons in books, experiences, mistakes, mentors, conversations and even correction. A wise person does not reject instruction simply because it exposes something that needs to change.
Learning is not a sign of weakness.
Learning is preparation.
The person who refuses to learn may eventually repeat avoidable mistakes. But the person who remains teachable can keep growing in wisdom, competence and character.
This applies everywhere.
If you are a parent, keep learning.
If you are a business owner, keep learning.
If you are a minister, keep learning.
If you are a student, keep learning.
If you are a leader, keep learning.
Never allow your position to become bigger than your willingness to learn.
Your current level of knowledge may be enough for today’s assignment, but God may be preparing you for something greater tomorrow. What you learn today can become part of the preparation for the responsibility you will carry later.
This is also why a consistent devotional life matters. The FireStreams Daily Devotional — September Edition is designed to help you begin each day with Scripture, reflection, prayer and practical application.
You can also strengthen your morning prayer discipline through Possess Your Morning — Morning Fire Prayers and develop a deeper prayer rhythm with the Midnight Prayer collection.
Do not rush to become the person giving instructions. First become the person willing to receive instruction.
Read.
Listen.
Ask questions.
Accept correction.
Practise what you learn.
Improve.
Then, when leadership comes, you will have something deeper than confidence—you will have wisdom and experience to offer.
🔥 FIRESTREAMS INSIGHT
A teachable heart turns knowledge into wisdom and preparation into responsible leadership.
