🌅 STOP WASTING YOUR STRENGTH – FIRESTREAMS DAILY DEVOTIONAL (DAY 1)

September is here—and God is calling you into a season of Divine Fruitfulness. But fruitfulness is not simply about doing more. It is about doing what matters under God’s direction.

“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.”
— John 15:4 (KJV)

You can spend an entire day working and still wonder where the results went.

Busyness does not always mean fruitfulness. Jesus gives us the picture of a branch connected to the vine. The branch does not produce fruit by exhausting itself; it produces because it remains connected to the source.

That is where this month must begin.

Perhaps you do not need another month of simply doing more. Perhaps you need a month of doing what matters.

There are things that deserve your strength—and things that merely consume it. There are opportunities worth pursuing and distractions worth refusing. There are assignments God has given you and activities you may have simply assumed you must carry.

Before asking, “What can I achieve this month?”, ask:

“Lord, what do You want me to do?”

That question can change your priorities.

Jesus said:

“I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”
— John 15:5 (KJV)

This is not a call to passivity. It is a call to dependence on Christ.

Stay connected to Him. Seek His direction before committing your strength. Let His wisdom determine what deserves your attention.

Do not measure your success by how exhausted you become. Measure it by whether your life, work and efforts are producing what God intended.

You do not need to do everything. You need to do what God has given you grace to do.

September is your opportunity to move from scattered effort to purposeful fruitfulness.

Father, help me remain connected to Christ and sensitive to Your direction. Show me where I am wasting my strength and teach me what deserves my attention. Give me wisdom to prioritise what You have assigned to me, and let my labour produce lasting fruit. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
