📖 Today’s Scripture: Colossians 3:2–3 (KJV)

“Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.”

🌅 MORNING ENCOUNTER

Live for What Truly Matters

It is easy to become consumed by temporary things.

Money.
Possessions.
Titles.
Popularity.
Achievements.

While these things have their place, they cannot satisfy the deepest needs of the human heart.

Jesus reminded His followers to store up treasures in heaven, where nothing can destroy them. A life centred only on earthly success will eventually disappoint, but a life lived for God’s Kingdom has eternal value.

Every act of love, every prayer, every sacrifice and every act of obedience done for Christ leaves an eternal reward.

Today, ask yourself: What am I living for?

It is possible to become so busy pursuing earthly success that we neglect the things that matter eternally. God has not called us merely to accumulate possessions, achieve recognition or build a reputation. He has called us to live for His Kingdom and His purposes.

🌱 Invest in What Lasts Forever

Ask yourself:

Will this decision honour God?

Will it bless others?

Will it matter in eternity?

When you view life through the lens of eternity, your priorities begin to change.

You value people more than possessions.
Character more than comfort.
Faithfulness more than fame.

You begin to understand that your time and resources have eternal significance.

Do not allow temporary pressures to make you forget eternal realities. Your present circumstances will change, but the things you do for Christ carry a value that extends beyond this present life.

Live today with eternity in view.

Choose faithfulness over the pursuit of popularity. Choose obedience over compromise. Choose love over selfish ambition. Choose God’s Kingdom over the applause of people.

Your life is more than what you can see today. There is an eternal purpose behind your journey.

Let your decisions reflect what truly matters to God.

Father, help me to live with eternity in view. Keep my heart from becoming distracted by temporary things. Teach me to invest my time, talents and resources in what truly matters. My heart is set on God’s Kingdom.

Do one thing today that has eternal value—share God’s love, encourage someone spiritually, pray for another person or invest time in God’s Word.

Before making an important decision today, pause and ask: “Will this matter in eternity?”

Father, thank You for the privilege of living for You today. As I rest tonight, keep my heart focused on what truly matters. Help me to wake tomorrow with a deeper desire to serve You faithfully until the day I see You face to face. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
