How God Directs the Steps of His People

📖 DP FIRESTREAMS – MORNING DEVOTIONAL (APRIL 27 | MONDAY)
With Pastor Adewole Adenubi

🔥 Theme: How God Directs the Steps of His People

📜 Scripture Focus:
“In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
Proverbs 3:6 (KJV)

🔍 Let’s Study This Together

This verse gives a clear pattern for divine direction.

First, it says: “In all thy ways acknowledge him…”
This means recognising God in every area of life, not just spiritual activities. Decisions, plans, conversations—everything is included.

To “acknowledge” God is more than mentioning Him. It means:

  • Seeking His guidance
  • Valuing His input
  • Being willing to follow His direction

Then comes the promise:
“…and he shall direct thy paths.”

Notice the order.
Direction follows acknowledgement.

Many times, people want clear direction but skip the process of involving God. Scripture teaches that guidance is not random—it flows from relationship and dependence.

Also, “paths” suggests a journey, not just a single decision. God is interested in guiding your entire walk, step by step.

📜 Looking at Scripture in Context

  • Abraham (Genesis 12:1 KJV):
“Get thee out of thy country… unto a land that I will shew thee.”
God guided him progressively—he moved first, then understanding followed.
  • David (1 Samuel 30:8 KJV):
“And David enquired at the LORD…”
Before acting, he sought direction—and received clarity that led to success.

💡 What This Means for Us

• God’s direction is available for everyday life
• Guidance grows out of relationship with God
• You don’t always get the full picture—just the next step

⚔️ Simple Truths to Hold On To

“Direction is a result of dependence on God.”

“God leads step by step, not always all at once.”

📖 Daily Bible Reading
Morning: Proverbs 3
Evening: 1 Samuel 30

Did You Know?
In navigation systems, routes are recalculated as you move—direction becomes clearer as progress is made, not before.

📅 Today in History
On April 27, 1805, U.S. Marines carried out a strategic mission in Tripoli, guided by coordinated direction—showing how clarity and guidance are essential for successful outcomes.

🙏 Prayer for Today

Lord, help me to acknowledge You in all I do. Teach me to depend on Your guidance and follow Your direction daily, in Jesus’ name.

🔥 Prophetic Declaration

I declare that I am led by God. My steps are directed, my path is clear, and I walk in confidence, in Jesus’ name.

What It Means to Draw Near to God

📖 DP FIRESTREAMS – MORNING DEVOTIONAL (APRIL 26 | SUNDAY)
With Pastor Adewole Adenubi

🔥 Theme: What It Means to Draw Near to God

📜 Scripture Focus:
“Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.”
James 4:8 (KJV)

🔍 Let’s Study This Together

This verse is both an invitation and an instruction.

First, the invitation:
“Draw nigh to God…”
This tells us that closeness with God is not accidental—it is intentional. It requires a deliberate move from us.

Then comes the response:
“…and he will draw nigh to you.”
God does not ignore those who seek Him. When a person moves toward God, God responds.

But James goes further by explaining how this drawing near happens:

  • “Cleanse your hands” — this speaks of outward actions
  • “Purify your hearts” — this speaks of inward motives

So drawing near to God is not just about location (going to church), but about condition (the state of your heart).

📜 Looking at Scripture in Context

  • Moses (Exodus 33:11 KJV):
“And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend.”
His closeness with God came from consistent seeking.
  • The Woman with the Issue of Blood (Mark 5:27–29 KJV):
She pressed through the crowd to touch Jesus—her encounter came because she moved intentionally.

💡 What This Means for Us

• Nearness to God is a choice, not a coincidence
• God responds to sincere pursuit
• The condition of your heart matters in your walk with God

⚔️ Simple Truths to Hold On To

“Closeness with God begins with a step toward Him.”

“God responds to those who genuinely seek Him.”

📖 Daily Bible Reading
Morning: James 4
Evening: Mark 5

Did You Know?
In relationships, closeness grows through consistent attention and intentional connection—just like our relationship with God.

📅 Today in History
On April 26, 1986, the Chernobyl nuclear disaster occurred—reminding the world how unseen conditions can have visible consequences, just as the condition of the heart affects spiritual life.

🙏 Prayer for Today

Lord, help me to draw near to You with sincerity. Cleanse my actions and purify my heart so that my relationship with You will be real and strong, in Jesus’ name.

🔥 Prophetic Declaration

I declare that I am drawing closer to God. My heart is aligned, my spirit is open, and I experience His presence more deeply, in Jesus’ name.

Learning How God Preserves What He Gives

📖 DP FIRESTREAMS – MORNING DEVOTIONAL (APRIL 25 | SATURDAY)
With Pastor Adewole Adenubi

🔥 Theme: Learning How God Preserves What He Gives

📜 Scripture Focus:
“The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.”
Psalm 121:8 (KJV)

🔍 Let’s Study This Together

Psalm 121 is a psalm of assurance—it reminds us that God is not only a giver, He is also a keeper.

Many times, we focus on what God gives—open doors, blessings, progress. But this passage shifts our attention to something equally important:
God preserves what He gives.

When the Bible says, “The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in,” it is describing total coverage—your movements, your activities, your daily life.

This means:

  • God is concerned about continuity, not just beginnings
  • He watches over both entry and exit—the visible and the unseen
  • His preservation is not occasional—it is consistent

📜 Looking at Scripture in Context

  • Job (Job 1:10 KJV):
“Hast not thou made an hedge about him…?”
Job’s life was not just blessed—it was protected. There was a covering around what he had.
  • David (1 Samuel 30:8, 18 KJV):
When David pursued what was taken, “David recovered all.”
God did not just give—He preserved and restored.

💡 What This Means for Us

• God’s work in your life is not fragile
• Preservation is part of God’s covenant with His people
• What God sustains cannot easily be lost

⚔️ Simple Truths to Hold On To

“God does not only start things—He sustains them.”

“What God keeps is stronger than what you protect alone.”

📖 Daily Bible Reading
Morning: Psalm 121
Evening: Job 1

Did You Know?
In many systems, maintenance is what determines longevity—what is not preserved, even if well built, can be lost over time.

📅 Today in History
On April 25, 1953, the structure of DNA was published, revealing how life is preserved and transmitted—showing that preservation is built into creation itself.

🙏 Prayer for Today

Lord, thank You for not only blessing me but keeping me. Help me to trust in Your preservation and walk daily under Your covering, in Jesus’ name.

🔥 Prophetic Declaration

I declare that my life is preserved by God. My going out and my coming in are covered, and what God has given me remains secure, in Jesus’ name.

Understanding the Season of Reaping

📖 DP FIRESTREAMS – MORNING DEVOTIONAL (APRIL 24 | FRIDAY)
With Pastor Adewole Adenubi

🔥 Theme: Understanding the Season of Reaping

📜 Scripture Focus:
“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
Galatians 6:9 (KJV)

🔍 Let’s Study This Together

This verse introduces a powerful principle:
there is always a gap between sowing and reaping.

Paul speaks to believers who were doing the right things—but not yet seeing results. His instruction was simple but deep:
“Do not be weary.”

Why? Because results are tied to seasons, not just actions.

You can do the right thing…
and still be in the waiting phase.

That does not mean nothing is happening.

Seeds grow where you cannot see—beneath the surface. In the same way, God often works out of sight before He brings things into view.

📜 Looking at Scripture in Context

  • The Farmer (Mark 4:26–28 KJV):
“The seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how.”
Growth was happening—even when the farmer could not explain it.
  • Isaac (Genesis 26:12 KJV):
“Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold…”
His harvest came—but it was tied to timing, not just effort.

💡 What This Means for Us

• Doing good does not always produce immediate results
• Delay is not denial—it is often development
• Consistency is required until the season changes

⚔️ Simple Truths to Hold On To

“Growth is happening even when you cannot see it.”

“Your harvest is not missing—it is maturing.”

📖 Daily Bible Reading
Morning: Galatians 6
Evening: Mark 4

Did You Know?
Farmers don’t dig up seeds daily to check growth—they trust the process. Constant interruption can actually stop development.

📅 Today in History
On April 24, 1990, the Hubble Space Telescope was launched, and though it faced early challenges, adjustments later revealed clear images—showing that results can emerge more clearly with time and refinement.

🙏 Prayer for Today

Lord, help me remain steady and patient. Teach me to trust Your timing and continue doing what is right, in Jesus’ name.

🔥 Prophetic Declaration

I declare that my season of reaping will come. I remain steady, I remain faithful, and I will see results, in Jesus’ name.

Understanding How God Aligns Your Life

📖 DP FIRESTREAMS – MORNING DEVOTIONAL (APRIL 23 | THURSDAY)
With Pastor Adewole Adenubi

🔥 Theme: Understanding How God Aligns Your Life

📜 Scripture Focus:
“The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.”
Psalm 138:8 (KJV)

🔍 Let’s Understand This Together

This verse gives us a very reassuring truth:
God does not leave things halfway.

When David says, “The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me,” he is expressing confidence that whatever God starts in a person’s life, He is committed to completing it.

But here’s the important part—God’s work often happens in stages.

Sometimes, things may look:

  • Unfinished
  • Disconnected
  • Or even delayed

Yet, behind the scenes, God is bringing different parts together.

That job, that relationship, that delay, that opportunity—what seems separate may actually be part of one bigger picture.

📜 Looking at Scripture in Context

  • Joseph (Genesis 45:7–8 KJV):
“And God sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the earth…”
What looked like betrayal was actually alignment for purpose.
  • Esther (Esther 4:14 KJV):
“…and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
Her position was not accidental—it was timed.

💡 What This Means for Us

• God is not working randomly in your life
• Things may not make sense immediately
• Alignment often happens quietly before it becomes visible

⚔️ Simple Truths to Hold On To

“God sees the full picture—even when you see parts.”

“Delay does not mean absence—God may be arranging things.”

📖 Daily Bible Reading
Morning: Psalm 138
Evening: Genesis 45

Did You Know?
In many systems, alignment happens before results appear—once everything is properly positioned, outcomes follow naturally.

📅 Today in History
On April 23, 1616, two great writers—Shakespeare and Cervantes—are both recorded to have died, yet their works continue to influence generations, showing how different paths can still align in lasting impact.

🙏 Prayer for Today

Lord, help me to trust Your work in my life, even when I don’t fully understand it. Give me peace as You bring everything into alignment, in Jesus’ name.

🔥 Prophetic Declaration

I declare that God is working in my life. Everything that concerns me is being aligned and perfected, in Jesus’ name.
